About This Redirect Service
This service provides privacy-friendly outbound links. It is commonly used by communities to route external links
through an intermediate page to reduce referrer leakage and add security controls.
How Signed Links Work
Links contain a token with:
- Destination URL
- Issued time (
iat)
- Expiration time (
exp)
- Cryptographic signature (HMAC)
If the token is modified, verification fails and the redirect is blocked. This prevents open-redirect abuse.
Why You May See “Link Unavailable”
- The link has expired.
- The token was modified or truncated (copy/paste issues).
- The destination domain is blocked by security rules.
- Rate-limiting temporarily blocked repeated requests.
Safety Tips
- Always verify the destination domain shown on the interstitial page before continuing.
- If a link seems suspicious, report it using the Abuse page.
- Keep your browser updated and use reputable security extensions if desired.
